  • 0.5 cup carrots Fresh or frozen, they bring a touch of sweetness and crunch.
  • 0.5 cup red bell pepper Sliced thin for a vibrant pop of color and flavor.
Sauces
  • 3 tablespoon soy sauce This classic adds umami depth to your Seafood Fried Rice.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Enhances the dish with sweetness and savory notes.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil A dash brings a toasty, aromatic finish that ties everything together.

Equipment

  • large pan
  • spatula

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat some oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook until just opaque, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, crack in the eggs and scramble them gently. Push the cooked eggs to one side of the pan to keep warm.
  3. Add minced garlic, peas, carrots, and red bell pepper to the pan. Sauté until the vegetables are tender-crisp, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  4. Toss in the cooked rice, breaking up any clumps. Stir-fry everything together over high heat for about 5 minutes until well combined.
  5. Drizzle soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil evenly over the rice mixture. Stir well to coat the rice and vegetables, cooking for an additional 2 minutes to combine flavors.
  6. Gently fold the cooked shrimp and crab meat into the rice, mixing until evenly distributed. Cook for 1-2 minutes until heated through.
