Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and bring water to a boil, adding baking soda.
  2. Dust your countertop with flour, roll out the pizza dough to ¼ inch thickness and cut into 2 inch squares.
  3. Place a stick of mozzarella cheese in the center of each dough square and fold over, pinching edges to seal.
  4. Boil each stuffed dough ball in the baking soda solution for 30 seconds.
  5. Beat the egg in a bowl, transfer boiled pretzel bites to a baking sheet, and brush with egg wash.
  6. Sprinkle with pretzel or flaky sea salt and bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving with warm marinara sauce.
