Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2.25 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 0.5 teaspoon of salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together 0.75 cup of softened unsalted butter with 0.5 cup of granulated sugar and 0.5 cup of packed brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 0.5 cup of milk into the butter-sugar mixture.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together 0.5 cup of brown sugar, 1.5 tablespoons of ground cinnamon, and 3 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter for the cinnamon swirl.
  7. Swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter using a knife or spatula.
  8. Place your pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. While the bars cool, beat together 4 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and enough milk until smooth.
  10. Once the bars are completely cool, spread the icing generously over the top.
