How to Make Cheddar Jalapeño Cornbread Waffles
- Preheat your waffle iron. Start by turning on your waffle iron and greasing it lightly.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Combine yellow cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Combine the wet ingredients in another bowl. Whisk together milk, eggs, and melted unsalted butter.
- Gently fold the wet and dry ingredients together. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir carefully until just combined.
- Incorporate the flavor-packed additions! Fold in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and finely diced jalapeños.
- Cook the batter in the preheated waffle iron. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the waffle iron and close the lid. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown.
