Ingredients
  

For the Banana Bread
  • 3 medium ripe bananas mashed
  • cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda sifted
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that the banana bread bakes evenly and rises properly.
  2. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Ripe bananas are sweeter and provide more moisture.
  2. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well. The butter adds richness to the bread.
  3. Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined. This adds flavor and moisture.
Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. This helps to evenly distribute the leavening agent.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently with a rubber spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the bread dense.
Add Chocolate Chips
  1. Fold in the chocolate chips gently into the batter. This adds delicious pockets of chocolate throughout the bread.
Bake the Bread
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Notes
