Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 1.5 lb chicken breast boneless, skinless
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch for coating
For the Orange Sauce
  • 1 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • mixing bowl

Method

Directions
  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut your chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch and eggs; coat each chicken piece thoroughly for a crispy texture.
  2. Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add the coated chicken pieces, frying them until crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. Make the Orange Sauce: In the same pan, lower the heat and combine orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and ginger. Simmer for about 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring occasionally.
  4. Combine and Serve: Once the sauce is ready, toss the crispy chicken in the pan until fully coated. Serve hot, either over rice or noodles, and enjoy.
