- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy, around 2-3 minutes.
- Gently fold in the diced fresh strawberries.
- Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place a spoonful of the cheesecake filling in the center, then brush the edges with the beaten egg. Fold the wrapper over to seal tightly.
- In a deep pot or skillet, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the filled wontons in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Once fried, remove the wontons and place them on a plate lined with paper towels. Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving.
